I don’t really know where to start...
I’m not sure how it happened, but I think everything changed the night I went back to his house.
When I arrived, everything felt different. It was like the house itself had lost its warmth. The air was thick, heavy, and I could almost taste the silence. I went inside, thinking I would find Matthew there, but... nothing. It was like he vanished without a trace.
I tried looking for him everywhere. I thought maybe he had just gone out or was hiding, like he sometimes did when he didn’t want to talk. But his room... it was so still. His computer was left on, and there were notes scattered around the desk—things he wrote, things that didn’t make sense. There were words, symbols, and images on the screen, but none of it was right.
The last entry he wrote... it scared me. It was like he knew something was going to happen, like he was trapped in some way. I didn’t understand it at first, but now I do. The shadows in the house felt alive, and I could hear whispers again. They weren’t coming from the computer anymore. They were all around me, too close, too real.
I don’t know how long I stayed there. Hours? Days? I lost track of time. The walls felt like they were closing in on me. I tried to leave, but the door... it wouldn’t open. The same way it happened to him.
I don’t know how to explain it, but something happened to Matthew. He was trying to tell me, but I didn’t listen in time. And now... now he’s gone. I never thought I would be the one left behind, but here I am.
I’m writing this now because I need to, even if it doesn’t make sense. I can still feel him. It’s like a part of him is still here, still... waiting.
I don’t know what’s coming next, but I think I’m ready to face it. I just hope wherever Matthew is, he’s at peace.
