hello again, diary!

Today was kinda weird, but not in a bad way? Just... different.

First of all, I had a dream last night. I don’t remember all of it, but there was this long hallway, like the one at school, but darker. It had flickering lights, and I was walking down it, and I could hear something behind me. I turned around but nobody was there. Then I woke up. I didn’t feel scared, just confused. I told Mom and she said maybe I ate too much sugar.

Breakfast was cereal. Corn Flakes. No sugar allowed today. Maybe Mom’s being sneaky.

At school, we had science and talked about magnets. I already knew some stuff from my book, but Mrs. Anderson showed us how they can push away from each other if you flip them. That was pretty cool. Caleb asked if magnets could stop ghosts. Brian said “maybe if they’re robot ghosts.” That made everyone laugh.

During recess, I saw something by the fence. It was shiny, like a piece of metal or foil, sticking out of the grass. I went to grab it, but Mrs. Anderson called us back in before I could. I tried looking again later but it was gone. Maybe it was trash.

After school, I went to Brian’s house. His room smells like gum. We played with his new Game Boy Color. He has Pokémon Blue! I picked Squirtle. We played until his mom called us for snacks, and then I had to go home.

When I got back, Dad was already home. That’s strange because it’s not even Friday. He was quiet and tired again. I think maybe he’s sick or something. He said he had a headache and the “screens at work were hurting his eyes.” He didn’t even want to play checkers.

I asked him about dreams, like weird ones, and he just looked at me for a second before saying, “Dreams are just echoes. They don’t mean anything.” I don’t really get what that means. He looked sad when he said it.

Anyway, I’m gonna go to bed early tonight. I kinda hope I dream again. I want to know what’s at the end of that hallway.

goodnight, diary.
