GUESS WHAT!!!

We went to a theme park today!! It’s called Fancy Island and it’s like the coolest place I’ve ever seen! Mom and Dad said it was a surprise trip because I’ve been doing better in school (even though I still hate fractions).

The entrance was HUGE, like a castle made out of balloons and candy. There was music everywhere, and people in giant costumes dancing around. I saw a big red rabbit with sunglasses doing breakdancing, and a guy dressed like a talking ice cream cone. It was so funny!!

The first ride we went on was a spinning teacup thing called “Whirly Sweets.” I laughed so hard I got dizzy. Then we did the haunted house. It wasn’t really scary, just weird. The mirrors made your face look all stretched and melted. One made me look like I had three mouths! Mom said it was “just illusions,” but I looked weird even when I walked past the mirror after...

Then I met these two girls. They were performers or something. One was named Mimi — she looked like a cat girl! She had white fuzzy ears on her head, a soft white outfit with cat paw gloves, and her shoes even looked like paws. Her eyes were super shiny, almost too shiny. She didn’t blink much. She gave me a sticker with a yellow smiley face and whispered, “Keep this. You’ll need it later.” She walked away before I could ask what she meant.

The other girl was named Nyami. She had messy brown hair and wore a black-and-pink jacket with band patches and shiny pins all over it. Her skirt was plaid and she had boots with spikes! She looked like she came out of a punk rock concert. Nyami was loud and funny — she kept saying “This place is totally bonkers!” and made guitar sounds with her mouth. She even air-guitared in front of one of the rides and yelled, “FANCY ISLAND ROCKS!!”

She said she likes loud music and roller coasters. I told her I get scared on the big ones and she laughed and said, “Then you haven’t really lived yet!” I think she was joking… maybe?

We went to the arcade next, and I played that jellybean ghost game again! I got an even higher score, and the ticket machine printed soooo many tickets. One of the workers stood behind me the whole time, just staring. He smiled when the game ended, but… he didn’t blink either.

I bought a plush of Rabby the Bunny from the gift shop. His eyes feel like they’re in a different place every time I look at him. Mom said it’s just the stitching.

Anyway, I’m so tired. Fancy Island was awesome, but I feel kinda… floaty. Like I forgot something but I don’t know what. I’m going to stick the smiley sticker on the back page of the diary. Just in case.
