hello! I am Matthew!

Hi again, Diary!

Today was better than yesterday, I think. I woke up on time this time (thanks, alarm clock), and I didn’t spill anything at breakfast, which Mom said is a “miracle.” She made waffles! With syrup! It was awesome, except they were kinda cold ‘cause I took too long looking for my lucky socks.

At school, we had art first. We’re doing paper mâché, and I’m making a volcano. I wanted to put little plastic people on it but Mrs. Anderson said “no gore,” which is weird ‘cause volcanoes totally do that in real life. Caleb’s making a robot. His is cooler, but mine’s gonna have lava that glows with red glitter, so maybe I’ll win.

We also had a fire drill. It was kind of boring, but someone said it wasn’t a drill at first and people ran too fast. The alarm was really loud. My ears rang for a while after. Brian said he saw someone standing in the hall during it, but nobody was supposed to be inside. He always makes stuff up, so I didn’t believe him. Probably a janitor or something.

Lunch was meatloaf. Ew.

After school, I played outside with Brian and Caleb. We tried to build a ramp for our bikes, but the board snapped and Caleb got a scrape on his knee. He didn’t cry though. He just said, “Guess the ghosts didn’t like that.” I think he watches too many scary movies.

At home, Dad was still at work. I asked Mom if he was coming back for dinner and she said yes, but he came late again. He looked super tired. I heard them talking in the kitchen and Mom said, “He needs to stop digging into that website.” I don’t know what that means. Grown-up stuff is weird.

I drew another dragon today. This one had lightning horns. I’m gonna write a story about it. Maybe tomorrow.

Anyway, that’s it for today. Nothing too weird.

Goodnight, diary.
